Sunset Liguanea Poster Competition

Our national heroes were people of great influence who helped to shape our country and our future. Today, we can find many individuals who influence the lives of our children and will shape their future. Launched on October 14th 2010, This poster competition is meant to encourage children to think about what it means to be a hero and to consider the people of influence in their lives today.

Reach out and Touch...

Reach out and touch
Somebody's hand
Make this world a better place
If you can
Reach out and touch
Somebody's hand
Make this world a better place
If you can

(just try)
Take a little time out of your busy day
To give encouragement
To someone who's lost the way
(just try)
Or would I be talking to a stone
If I asked you
To share a problem that's not your own
We can change things if we start giving
Why don't you

Reach out and touch
Somebody's hand
Make this world a better place
If you can
Reach out and touch
Somebody's hand
Make this world a better place
If you can

(just try)
If you see an old friend on the street
And he's down
Remember his shoes could fit your feet
(just try)
Try a little kindness you'll see
It's something that comes very naturally
We can change things if we start giving

Why don't you
Reach out and touch
Why don't you (why don't you)
Reach out and touch somebody's hand

Reach out and touch
Somebody's hand
Make this world a better place
If you can
Reach out and touch
Somebody's hand
Make this world a better place
If you can

Excerpts from GD Joe Benfield’s Acceptance Speech

I am humbled by your election of me to lead our great Caribbean District for the fiscal year 2010 – 2011. Let me take this opportunity to thank Governor Gene and DST Rose for the cooperative and consultative manner in which we have worked over the past year. It was truly a learning and rewarding experience and no doubt will be largely responsible for the smooth transition as we move into the next fiscal year.(CLICK FOR MORE)
